Origin condition
Why it exists
Community simulations often optimize what is easiest to count while hiding who set the rules. Parallax Village exists to make rules, tradeoffs, authority, memory, and revision history part of the world itself.
Can a simulation help people rehearse stewardship without pretending to predict human beings?
02
Working system
What it does
- ⌁Makes governance playable
Rules, roles, disputes, resources, and revisions become visible systems rather than invisible developer assumptions.
- ◇Preserves exit rights
Residents and groups retain meaningful ways to dissent, leave, fork, or repair agreements.
- ▤Records custody and consequence
Deterministic validation and receipts make state changes, decisions, and repairs inspectable.
03
System anatomy
Architecture
The Village combines a simulation state model, deterministic validator, governance rules, custody receipts, spatial memory, and a future public observation layer.
Village state
Residents, places, resources, relationships, roles, and events.
Governance engine
Authority, proposals, disagreement, exit, repair, and rule revision.
Deterministic validator
Checks state transitions and rejects impossible or unauthorized changes.
Custody ledger
Records who changed what, under which authority, and with which consequences.
04
Present tense
Current state
Parallax Village is recorded as Prototype at the Growing stage. The inventory currently marks 5 artifact lanes Ready, 2 Partial, and 1 Missing.

Honest edges
Known limitations
- The simulation is a prototype and does not predict real communities or prove a political model.
- Human behavior cannot be reduced to the current state representation.
- Governance mechanics may encode designer values and require adversarial review.
- A public observation build must protect privacy and avoid presenting simulated outcomes as social evidence.

Claim boundary · v1.1.0
What we are—and are not—saying
Parallax Village progressed through deterministic validation and custody-receipt milestones up to v0.5, and its first Project Genome room established the reusable portal pattern.
The project does not claim to simulate society accurately, prescribe real governance, replace community consent, or validate outcomes beyond the bounded rules implemented.

Roadmap
Preserve the benchmark room
Use Village to verify every shared Genome section and responsive state.
Package one observable simulation loop
Show a proposal, disagreement, authorized transition, consequence, and repair receipt.
Open bounded public observation
Let visitors inspect the simulation without confusing it with a recommendation for real communities.
